Dominic trained and qualified at specialist crime firm, before working at a top ranked criminal law firm in the city before starting at Carson Kaye.
Dominic represents clients charged with serious and complex offences including large scale conspiracies to supply class A drugs, importations, firearms offences, fraud, and violence offences including S18 GBH and murder.
He regularly represents clients at the pre-charge stage, at the police station, at the magistrate's court and through to the crown court. Dominic's pragmatic and diligent approach in the preparation of his client's cases mean his clients get excellent representation.
Recent Cases:
- R v A – Represented a client charged with a high profile and sophisticated escape from HMP Chelmsford and 2x Assisting a Prisoner to escape. The case revolved around an allegation that the Defendant manipulated the release system within the prison allowing him to be released.
- R v H – Represented a client charged with the large-scale production and distribution of articles for use in fraud (phishing Kits) with an estimated loss of estimated loss of £168 million as well as possession, acquiring and transferring criminal property. The defence relied on case law as the client was a juvenile at the beginning of the indictment period, these submissions were successful and the client was sentenced to a total of 7 years imprisonment.
- R v A – Represented the lead defendant in an eleven handed conspiracy to convey prohibited articles into HMP Isis over a 5-month period. The client was a serving prison guard at the time of the alleged offences. The defendant was acquitted following successful half time submissions during trial.
- R v T – Represented a client who was charged with two separate conspiracies to supply a total of 120kg of cocaine which spanned over a period of 2 years. Following extensive mitigation, the defendant was sentenced to 7 years 8 months custody, some 3 years less than other co-defendants.
- R v T / R v M – Representing 2 of 4 defendants charged with a conspiracy to supply circa 120kg of cocaine. This case involves large amounts cell site evidence, telephone downloads, encrypted telephone applications, and police surveillance.
- R v M – Representing a client charged with Section 18 GBH where the defence is insanity
- R v V – Representing a client who is charged with the importation of 10kg of cocaine through the port of Dover prosecuted by the NCA.
- R v S – Instructed in respect of a Section 18 GBH where the complainant’s arm was severely slashed with a machete, severing an artery and ligaments. Cell site and attribution will be critical during trial.
- R v C – Representing a client charged with False Imprisonment and Threats with a bladed article.
- R v M – Representing a client on an appeal. The client was charged with sophisticated conspiracy to burgle forty-eight properties. The case involves cell site evidence, call data, covert surveillance, and ANPR data.
- Operation Chandrila – Representing 4 clients under investigation in relation to large scale conspiracy to commit fraud by housing officers in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham. The investigation relates to the alleged fraudulent allocation hundreds of properties with the value of the fraud being upwards of £2 million.
